What wonderful news the Iraq War On Terror is over……. but let’s not forget that there were a lot of gaping holes (not just in the World Trade Centre) in the reason, sorry, ‘the story’ of why we were apparently left with no other reason but to send our troops into another American lead war. To lose many of their lives, and those of the Iraqi people too. Forget Obama’s ‘war wind up’ speech for a moment, and have a think about some of this

  1. For all the illegitimacy this bastard child of George’s carried, the announcement and the act of leaving Iraq in the state that it is in leaves me to worry. We still hear, daily, reports of horrendous insurgent attacks that kill and maim – usually their own citizenry. Should the US who started this disaster now be allowed to desert it.

Sure, there is to be a nominal troop compliment left behind to aid the Iraqi military but what military do they have really? Hell they don’t even have a functioning government right now – despite elections earlier this year. (why did I just have the most overwhelming sense of deja vu just then?)

I was against the war in the beginning but I’m not sure that I feel too comfortable about the withdrawl now.

  2. George W is an absolute joke… he has so much to answer for! I still can’t fathom how he was ever elected.
Sadly 9/11 did change the world forever. It now means all muslims are treated with fear and suspicion by the majority of westerners. Wars are so ugly and pointless, all that human suffering for what?

    • I agree. The truth about George bush is yet to come but I don’t trust the American government full stop. And I agree the legacy of that war on how people look to innocent Muslims is just terrible. The ludicrous way in which that government made the western world generalize about so many people is awful. It has shown how very easy it is to round up the sheep and make them all believe the same thing without showing the intelligence to ask a few basic logical questions…. No winder so many people in the non western world think we are unspiritual, immoral idiots

  3. Sadly, I don’t tgink George W. will ever be called to account for the damage he has wrought since March 2003.

And unless there is something like a revolution in that country, I doubt whether anything will change in America. It has been hijacked by a powerful minority whose reach is cancerous.
